CASE HISTORIES
A LOCAL FIGURE
CULTURAL CHANGE
LOVE LETTERS IN WARTIME
The author – a well known local figure having reached an advanced age wanted to record his life story. Copydiss worked from his handwritten script to generate the text and then were given latitude to create the book using our judgement. The book was printed to a high specification at the author’s behest and the first run sold out. We printed a second edition and that too sold out due to the high level of local interest in this well-known local figure.
Having emigrated to Britain in the 1960s this author collated a heart-warming memoir based on the individual stories of ladies from India who also made their homes in this country. The book is filled with the lovingly prepared recipes associated with each of these ladies. Her book was printed purely for the benefit of those long-term friends who created such a loving environment for their families and friends all finding themselves in a strange land.
This is a heart-warming story of an enduring love between two young people cruelly separated during World War II created from their very own letters by their son. The story ranges across East Anglia, Egypt and Kenya and touches on the personal tragedies that unfolded in the Far East following the fall of Singapore. This book provides a first-hand insight into the impact of the war on the lives of ordinary people.

A HISTORICAL JOURNEY
THE CASE FOR THE BRANSCOMBE BAYONET
It’s “special”, so I was always told and that’s all I knew. It was by pure accident that the hidden secrets of the blade’s past were discovered. The history of where it has seen action certainly warrants a special label worthy of note. But strangely, its story became a mystery that was not handed down. There must have been a reason why…
Was a murder and a suicide in late 19th century Branscombe the key to unlock a story that was forgotten or even purposefully hidden?
